Samsung targets Galaxy S 2 sales of 10 million
Manufacturer to release sequel to its flagship smartphone in the UK
Samsung is targeting global sales of over 10 million Galaxy S 2 smartphones.
The manufacturer today (28 April) confirmed plans to release the smartphone officially in the UK on 1 May 2011.
Samsung UK and Ireland mobile MD Simon Stanford said: ‘We are confident it’s [the device] a great package for anyone wanting a superior smartphone experience.
Samsung launched the Galaxy S 2 early at Phones 4u this week after the company teamed up with the high street retailer for an exclusive deal.
The handset went on sale at Phones 4u stores and on their website yesterday (27 April) giving the retailer a head start in selling the highly-anticipated smartphone.
The new Galaxy S 2, which is based on Google's Android operating system, uses Samsung's own dual-core processor. It is also slimmer than its predecessor and boasts a bigger display.
